The Handy Simmons Scholarship was established to honor the memory and dedicated service rendered by Mary F. Handy, who organized the Parent Mite Missionary Society in 1907, and Sandy G. Simmons, the first President of The Women’s Home and Foreign Missions 1915-1927, we continue to offer financial assistance to our youth in their efforts to further their education. It is our hope that in doing so, they will commit their skills, talents, and service to the African Methodist Episcopal Church and their country.
